Enter your favorite sandwich in Hellmann's ® Build your Perfect Sandwich Sweepstakes

Do you serve or eat the same sandwich most every day?  I tend to buy the same deli meat; fat free turkey.  I make it the same way, Hellmann's ® mayonnaise, (yes I really do use this brand), provolone cheese, lettuce, and if in season a tomato slice.  Looking at the photos of the sandwiches on Hellmann's  ® web site I found some recipes to use to get out of that same old same old sandwich routine.
Hellmann's ® and Best Foods ® have partnered with chef Bobby Flay to show families how to make real simple and delicious sandwiches. Share your style and personality of how you make your sandwiches on Hellmann's ® Facebook page (look for the tab on the left side of their page).  When you visit the page you have the opportunity to enter Hellmann's ® Build Your Perfect Sandwich Sweepstakes with PRIZES such as kitchen essentials and gift cards. The contest is going on now until August 15, 2011. (official rules are here also)
Make your Summer lunch time delicious with fresh ingredients and Hellmann's Mayonnaise.
Try some new recipes or share yours on the Facebook Page and watch Bobby Flay's recipe video on  Hellmann's  ® Web Site. While you are there enter the sweepstakes and share your favorite way to build a sandwich.

Disclosure:  I was entered for a chance to win Hellman's ® prize package. These are my own views and comments. Monetary exchange did not take place.

Disclosure:  These are not my own views are comments. I will give that credit to God.
The plants I marked as from my Grandparents house are from their house, given to me to plant in my yard, which is pretty special now since they have both gone on to heaven.   The vegetable garden is tended to by my husband, my Dad gives him things to plant from his garden.  The perennials (not shown) in our yard are from my Mother's flower garden. I come from a serious line of gardening family members, in fact my Dad is a Master Gardener, and my sister is a flower show Judge. My Mom has the best garden around. Flowers everywhere, especially Zinnias.
When they are ready I will post some pictures!

Is it homemade or is it Marie Callender's Pot Pie?

There comes that time of the day, known as dinner time. The days that I find myself being a taxi driver to my kids, running errands, and trying to keep up with the dishes and laundry,  making dinner is far from my mind. Let alone what we are having for dinner!  I open the freezer door, looking for something wholesome, easy to prepare, and something that my family  likes to eat.  There it is! Marie Callender's Pot Pies.

Honestly, my Mother told me about this brand years ago, and I still am buying it! My family prefers this brand of pot pies over other brands and this is why: they taste homemade. Recently Marie Callender's pot pies were featured in the  8 Grocery Store Items that are better than homemade list. Since I have been feeding these to my family for years, I have to agree they are that good! The crust is flaky, the pot pie is loaded with vegetables, the right amount of meat, and a nice flavorful gravy.  We prefer the Turkey Pot Pie, there are chicken varieties and beef pot pies so you can make everyone their favorite.  The back of the box offers cooking directions; microwave, or conventional oven, which is they way I like to cook the pies. The house fills with the warm yummy smell of the flaky crust and the vegetables and gravy, a whole meal cooking all in a pot pie. All I had to do was put the pot pies in  the oven and let them cook.  How easy is that?!  Visit Marie Callender's on their  Facebook page and on their Website to learn more about these Better than homemade Pot Pies. Pick up several varieties and keep them in your freezer for quick meals by microwave, or cook them in the oven and relax on the couch with your favorite magazine. They take about an hour to cook in a conventional oven at 400 degrees F, or around 15 minutes in the microwave. When your family is on the go, in and out of the house with different dinner times, these pot pies are great to serve individually or a sit down dinner with the family.
Today I did a ton of college laundry, and tonight's dinner is Marie Callender's Pot Pies.

fresh out of the oven!

hot and ready to eat!

I baked them in the oven since today is a cool rainy day, it warms the house and the pies cooking smell so good and fresh. The only clean up is to load the dishwasher and put the  Marie Callender's Pot Pie cardboard boxes in the recycling bin.

Don't Fret the Sweat! The Tween years!

My Grandmother used the word Fret-as in don't Fret about things, don't worry about things that can be taken care of in some way.  I kinda like that word because she said it and it
is true!  The tween years with kids growing bodies is one of those times not to Fret.
The makers of Degree ®, Dove ® and Suave ® deodorant (Unilever ®) have a great new community on Facebook called Don't Fret the Sweat. On this community page Moms can share your thoughts on all those new experiences with your tween.  The increased hormone levels, growth spurts, and strange new odors your tween experiences! ( And the Mom too!) Parents can help your tween to stay calm and comfortable during this time of awkward moments by talking and listening. For those strange new odors tween have during this time of puberty, there are great products from Unilever to help control those odors.  In my household we are fans of Degree ®, Dove ® and Suave ®.  My girls like Degree ®, I am the Suave ®, Dove ® fan.  Daily hygiene is a must at this age and beyond!  Tween self esteem at this time in their lives can be a little easier with family support and the use of products to keep themselves clean and fresh.  Kids notice odors, as well as the other kids noticing!  From gym class to the classroom tween odors can change, not for the better, I might add!  On the Facebook Page there are tips from experts in this field.
The Don't Fret The Sweat website  offers Facts, Experts, and Product information that is all very useful in navigating this time with your children.  Both the website and Facebook page I find to be a great help in finding answers and knowing there are other Mom's out there in the same situation. The site offers tips, guidance, insights into what is happening now with tween bodies, and finding the right products to help them feel comfortable. As parents we want our kids to look and feel their best.
Here are the links to help!!!
