We may shelter them from the TV and radio news so they aren't confused or scared by these events, yet we don't want them to hear about events from friends or even passerby .   For news of good or bad, News-O-Matic lets kids 7-10 years of age read about events and newsworthy happenings in a way they can relate. It also gives them good reading skills, knowledge of current events, and topics to converse about with family around the dinner table.   Each issue has five stories and includes games, puzzles, maps to show location of stories,timeline of history and images and videos. Disclosure: I attended this screening with a media pass. The comments and views are my own. Wednesday night I went to an advanced screening to see the film "After Earth" staring Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. As in real life, in the movie they are father and son. First of all- the thought of "After Earth" is a bit scary-right. In the film they crash land on "Earth" but it is not earth as we know it now. It's only animals, people are not there-here.  Cypher (Wil Smith) is the General and his son Kitai Raige  (Jaden Smith) is training to be a ranger.  There are some parts of the film that are startling. I saw a few people including myself do one of those yikes moments caught off guard a few times during the film. watch the trailer below to see a bit of the film. Disclousre: I was sent free coupons from  Koru Dairy. The comments and views are my own . I am just back from the grocery store with my youngest. Both my girls are at the age where they can cook and clean. I see the cooking in action everyday-cleaning not so much. We unloaded the cotton reusable bags-I like to be able to run them through the washer from time to time. Did you notice that Chick-fil-A ® has new salads? Three to be exact, and the side salad is new too, so that makes four.  I was invited to a blogger lunch at Chick-fil-A ®  in Exton, Pennsylvania to try all three new salads. Of course we did not eat all three salads at once, but sampling them was delicious and we all brought leftovers home. I am not sure who ate the leftover salads at my house, but they were eaten the same day. The new salads are packed, honestly packed with so many fresh ingredients. All chopped, cut and prepared fresh daily.  We got a behind the scenes look at how the salads are made, and it looks like a salad bar almost. One nice woman was making all the salads for the day. Sunday morning we headed east to Tuckerton, New Jersey to attend a Bluegrass  and BBQ. Even though we are New Jersey residents, we had not been to Tuckerton before. What were we waiting for? This place is beyond cool. Upon arriving we meet fellow bloggers in the Hunting Shanty, also known as Barnegat Bay Decoy  Museum  This shanty is full of hand carved duck decoys and history of duck hunting. Next we all headed over to the visitor's center which houses the gift shop. We trekked down the steps for Todd's Musical Petting Zoo where kids and parents could play musical instruments. There were craft tables and Adventure Aquarium and Watershed Ambassadors and a few other information booths. Yes I know that is a lot of ands.  We had so much fun with the instruments,and visiting the tables of the environmental groups.
