FINDING JESUS: FAITH, FACT, FORGERY. Tune in March 1 on CNN to find out.

Who would you say is the most famous person in the last 2000 years? Jesus. He's influenced lives, churches, homes, politics, and the world. But where did he go after he died on the cross since the tomb was empty?

A new series titled: FINDING JESUS: FAITH, FACT, FORGERY premiers on Sunday March 1, 2015 at 9 PM EST/PT on CNN. Taking a look at Relics from Jesus's time on earth using state of the art techniques and archeology to answer questions of where did Jesus go?
Did he leave without a trace or are there artifacts from his life?

The first of the series looks at the Shroud of Turin. A shroud is a cloth, in this case the cloth that covered Jesus after he was hung on the cross to die. Turin is a city in Italy. The show highlights experts in their fields of science and technology to prove that the shroud is actually from Jesus.

I have watched the first show in this series and I will say it is not for children to watch. There are some parts of such suffering and cruelty that I myself felt sick. To think of how Jesus was treated is just heartbreaking.

If you observe Lent, go to church, are a Christian, or not a believer, than this show is for you. It's an amazing interesting series that will leave  you thankful you are here on earth.
Tune in this Sunday night after you put the kids to bed and watch Finding Jesus: Faith Fact, Forgery.
I learned many new things, or facts I never paid attention to in my Sunday School days. I plan on watching the entire series

For more details and show dates go to:
CNN New Original Series FINDING JESUS

Tune into CNN on Sunday March 1, 2015 for an original series on the history of Jesus. Learn about the stories from Gospel characters connected to artifacts-the baptism, the betrayal, the Passion, The Resurrection and after.

"Each episode of the six-part series investigates the value and authenticity of a historical object which could shed new light on Jesus: the Shroud of Turin, relics venerated as part of the True Cross, the gospel of Judas, relics believed to be of John the Baptist, the burial box of Jesus’ brother James and the gospel of Mary Magdalene."

closed Giveaway: For you chance to win the companion book to the CNN series, leave a comment on this post. One random will be chosen and sent the book: Finding Jesus: Faith. Fact. Forgery.: Six Holy Objects That Tell the Remarkable Story of the Gospels.

In the Northeast it's cold. It's been a snowy winter, and it's good to know it won't snow forever...or rain forever as we learn in Noah's Ark. Remember the Dove and the Rainbow?

Veggie Tales newest DVD is NOAH'S ARK stars Bob the  Tomato, Larry the Cucumber, Shem, Sadie, Noah, Naamah, Ham, Japheth, and the crew of Veggies.

Also the voices of Wayne Brady and Jaci Velasquez for Shem and Sadie.

Head on over to their web site for FREE Noah's Ark printables, crafts, and activities.

The colorful, fun loving Veggie Tales bring the story of God's Promise to young children and their families in Noah's Ark. Great for children and families of all ages to view.

"In NOAH’S ARK, Shem and Sadie return home from their honeymoon to find that Noah (played by Pa Grape) has begun, at God’s direction, to work on a massive ark, which his wife Naamah (played by Madame Blueberry) and sons Ham (played by Larry) and Japheth (played by Bob) are helping construct before the start of 40 days and 40 nights of rain.

Watch Shem and Sadie's bike ride where animals in pairs of two are headed the same way they are...

But Shem doesn’t understand Noah’s unshakable faith in God, particularly when animals start arriving two-by-two – while the rain is nowhere to be seen.

When the deluge does come, Shem begins to understand Noah’s determination to preserve humanity’s future … and the importance of trusting in God.

Giveaway: New Purex® PowerShot Detergent! Are you ready to flip?

Laundry, wash, dirty clothing, or whatever term you use for- it's time to run the washing machine are part of my daily life. How about yours? I do an average of two loads of wash a day. When my kids were younger it was like 5 loads a day! That's a lot of laundry detergent to buy and lug home from the store.

I am glad for the more concentrated laundry detergent since that means the bottle is not so heavy. It's enough work loading the washing machine then the dryer to have yet another big ole bottle to navigate measuring the right amount and not have a messy dripping bottle, right?

I like this idea for a liquid laundry detergent:
Flip. Dose. Done.
No Measuring
No Guesswork
No Mess
So, what's this new product???

It's new! It's  Purex® PowerShot detergent.
It's available in Mountain Breeze and Natural Elements Linen & Lillies
It's Super Concentrated with 50% more stain fighting power in every drip.
It smells awesome and cleans awesome. It's pretty cool to use.

In stores now!  For coupons and promotions visit

Easy to use:
Open the cap, and then...

Flip the bottle upside down, yep, upside down! (into your washer of course).
One super concentrated dose is auto-dispensed into your washing machine.

No mess, No waste, No drips.
Use 1 flip for regular loads
Use 2 flips for large or extra dirty loads

Giveaway: For your chance to win one of three coupons good for a FREE bottle of new  Purex® PowerShot enter the raffelcopter widget. Open to residents of USA, 18 years of age or older.

Have you visited The Shelter Pet Project yet? Meow! Bark to it!

Our family has had two cats. Well, we have one now. Both cats were adopted from a shelter.
Are you interested in adopting a pet???
Then visit The Shelter Pet Project and get a cuddly pet to snuggle up with! Hopefully anyway.

As I sit here typing, our cat is snoozing, on the couch. Warm, fed, comfy, and content.

Here he is awake stretched out and relaxing.

Each year approximately 3-4 million pets are adopted from shelter and rescue groups, but 2.4 million healthy and treatable pets still need our help to find a home each year.

WILD original motion picture soundtrack is right on the trail.

Did you ever imagine a movie without the music? Music totally makes the movie, don't you think? Those songs are there to highlight the experience of watching the film. It's an emotional feeling, something to relate to, and perhaps give you something to ponder on about your own life.

WILD's original motion picture soundtrack offers many a song I grew up listening to like: Simon & Garfunkel's "Homeward Bound" and "If I Could". Songs that travel with the star of this film through her 1000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. Her 94 days of walking, hardship, joy, dangerous animals, and adventure on the trail, and as my husband often states to situations: "there's a song for that". True.

Reese Witherspoon plays author Cheryl Strayed's character in the film. Based on the book Cheryl wrote from her life experiences and time on the trail. It's about a mother and daughter relationship, and a relationship with herself, how she got to the trail and how she finds herself homeward bound.(#13)

Number 14 on the soundtrack is "Ripple" by Dusted and Eric D. Johnson. The guitar playing song gives me the feeling of being right there with them as they play the song. It's homey, rich, and earthy, just like walking the trail.

There are 15 songs on the soundtrack, mostly familiar to me, but a few new ones like music from "First Aid Kit".  Other familiar song tiles from Wings, Bruce Springsteen, The Hollies and more...

Living in New Jersey, Bruce Springsteen is, um, very popular, and living near Princeton, where there is a street named Witherspoon after a signer of the declaration of Independence, which is a relative of Reese's, makes the soundtrack closer to home.

Have a listen!

#McFarland, USA

join the social relay race for a chance to win $2,500 and other prizes!

Based on the 1987 true story, “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school, with whom they ultimately bond to build not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well.

Well, I can tell you I ran all through high school and college-even though I don't look like that skinny runner I once was, I did. I can also tell you it is a bond you form with your fellow runners and your coach. From practice, meets, weekend fun runs, meals, bus rides, and memories, it's all part of being a family. Our girls cross-country team was new the first year I joined so we really bonded, as they did in McFarland USA,

Don't miss the video just after these images! See the film next weekend in the theater!

Based on the 1987 true story, “McFarland, USA” follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California’s farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school. Coach White and the McFarland students have a lot to learn about each other but when White starts to realize the boys’ exceptional running ability, things begin to change. Soon something beyond their physical gifts becomes apparent—the power of family relationships, their unwavering commitment to one another and their incredible work ethic. With grit and determination, the unlikely band of runners eventually overcomes the odds to forge not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well. Along the way, Coach White realizes that his family finally found a place to call home and both he and his team achieve their own kind of American dream.

The Winter’s Tale
Following his delightful full-length ballet Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Christopher Wheeldon continues his highly successful collaboration with designer Bob Crowley and composer Joby Talbot to create his first ballet based on a Shakespeare play, the late romance The Winter’s Tale. The story follows the destruction of marriage through consuming jealousy, the abandonment of a child, and a seemingly hopeless love. Yet through remorse and regret – and after a statue comes miraculously to life – the ending is one of forgiveness and reconciliation. It is powerful material for ballet, with a story that allows for the portrayal of intense emotions between and within the characters, and the opportunity for th.e Company to create not just new central characters but the whole world around them

Swan Lake
Swan Lake, surely the greatest of all Romantic ballets, is the captivating story of a beautiful woman transformed into a swan, and a heart-rending tribute to the power of love. Swan Lake is a perfect synthesis of choreography and music and, though Tchaikovsky did not live to see it become a success, his first ballet score is now synonymous with ballet itself, inspiring generations of dancers and crossing over into popular culture.  From the earliest days of the Vic Wells Ballet, Swan Lake has been one of The Royal Ballet’s signature works. In creating this production, Anthony Dowell aimed to return to an authentic version of the choreography created by the great Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov for the Mariinsky Theatre in 1895. Yolanda Sonnabend’s designs draw on the Russian Imperial Court of that period with an inspired blend of historical accuracy and gothic fantasy. The court scenes of Acts I and III have a dark glamour rooted in the opulent style of Carl FabergĂ©, while the famous lakeside ‘white’ acts are rich with mist, shadow and moonlight.

Giveaway: ROADMAP GENESIS - DVD a documentary by Nolan Lebovitz

What does the word Genesis mean to you? A new beginning, the beginning, new, life???  The film maker, Nolan Lebovitz ask that question to people on the street-there are some funny answers, and some right ones too.

Might be a good time to read or re-read the book of Genesis in The Bible! Make it your road map for life, and share it with others.

For your chance to win a copy of this film, enter the giveaway on this post!

about the film:
Roadmap Genesis is a film documentary that makes the case that the Book of Genesis is a roadmap containing guideposts on how to live a productive, fruitful, and fulfilling life that will help our society lift itself out of its current decline and return it to prosperity, promise, and accomplishment.

When Filmmaker Nolan Lebovitz. found himself at a crossroads in his life, he knew he had to choose between continuing to make the Hollywood suspense thrillers that were his livelihood and trying to make the world a better place for his new young family. After much struggle, he found his answer in the Book of Genesis.

He decided to combine his love of the Book of Genesis with his passion for filmmaking and set out to travel the United States, interviewing clergy and public figures in order to build an undeniable argument about the continued importance of the Book of Genesis as guiding force in our Judeo-Christian country.

Roadmap Genesis invites Americans of all faiths to engage in a dialogue about the relevance of the Bible in the modern age. Through interviews ranging from Gov. Mike Huckabee of Fox News Channel to Rabbi David Wolpe, from Alan Dershowitz to the Archbishop of Chicago Cardinal Francis George, from Erick Stakelbeck of the Christian Broadcasting Network to Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum, and many, many more, Nolan explores the rules that God has set forth to help us maintain a successful and working society.

Book giveaway: NOURISHED, A search for Health, Happiness, and a FullNight's Sleep.

One particular day in the Fall of 2009, I sat down at our Kitchen Table with my laptop and said to my husband I want to start a blog. He asked what was I going to write about. I sat there and looked at our kitchen table and said-all this stuff on the table, and so the blog began. But what would I call the blog?

There was a pile of newspapers/coupons/advertisements,school papers, recipes, mail, magazines, sunglasses, keys, books, and who knows what else buried in those piles on the table.

I like to shop, I like to clip coupons, I like to find special offers, free samples, new products, and go to the mall. So, that's what I started to write about, all those piles of stuff on the table.
That's also how I came up with the name for this blog-Kitchen Table.

I used to have a tablecloth for every season, so hence, I change the background with every season or holiday. It's sort of like this blog is my kitchen table where I write about life and stuff.

Over the years of being homeroom mom, volunteer, and anything else that required buying goodie bag loot, party supplies, and decorations, I was all over it. I had a basement full of school supplies, gifts, wrapping supplies, art supplies, and extra anythings. As the kids grew older, I began to clean out some of that excess, and even more this year. It's so much clutter, I NEED to get rid of it!!!

Clutter ways me down, clutter keeps me awake at night, clutter is on my mind night and day. I did clean out one drawer today and a pile of cards, calendars, and address labels we got in the mail over the past few months that I plan to give to a Senior Center.

My point of this intro is that you may have plans for your day, but one phone call or event can change that and the clutter doesn't get cleaned up. What I've learned over the years is your have to nourish yourself, your family, and most importantly your soul.

Clutter makes my soul UN-easy, and that' why this book NOURISHED is so good. I feel like I'm reading my life. And the book is an inspiration to do what you have to do, and don't worry about so much of the other stuff.

One of my favorite parts of the book is when Rachel talks about her Trapper Keeper. I didn't know they still made those, but in 8th grade I loved my Trapper Keeper. I've been trying to figure out a blog planner, printing pages here and there trying to make one that works for me, but when I read how she uses a Trapper Keeper for a planner I laughed out loud! So, that's the blog planner for me.

Okay, back to the purpose of this post: The book. NOURISHED
246 pages
$15.99 USD
Religion/Christian Life/Women's Issues

The book isn't all about getting rid of clutter, it's about relationships, you're family, how to deal with stress, marriage, and your own faith. I highly recommend reading Nourished!

"Order-loving, thirty-something Rachel, and her laid-back, messy mother, Becky, are opposites in many ways. But they both believe that women long for a life that nourishes them inside and out. In this book, the mother-daughter duo will help you make that dream a reality by tackling the “Top 10 Stressors” that mess with a woman’s mind, such as:"

•Exhaustion of parenting
•Time-starved marriages•Feeling like a spiritual slacker
•Crowded Schedules•Negative Body Image
•Cluttered Surroundings

"Following a series of trial-and-error experiments, Becky and Rachel share laugh-out-loud stories, fascinating research, and practical tips to design and a nourished life that fits your personality. By learning how to embrace “nourishing compromises,” you’ll never put happiness on hold again. If you are feeling drained, discontent, or discouraged, join a couple of understanding, entertaining companions on the journey from overwhelmed to nourishedd."

Becky Johnson is the author, coauthor, or collaborator of more than forty books. She’s a natural storyteller who has inspired and entertained audiences for years. Most recently she co-authored We Laugh, We Cry, We Cook alone with a blog by the same name with her daughter, Rachel Randolph. She and her husband, Greg, live in Denver, Colorado."  Website/blog:

"Rachel Randolph writes and speaks with humor and honesty about parenting a toddler, young married life, and her mostly plant-based cooking adventures. Rachel is married to Jared, a high school football and baseball coach. They live near Dallas, Texas with their son, Jackson. Nourished is her second book."

BLACK OR WHITE is in theaters now! What makes a family? Watch the trailer!

This film, Black or White is in theaters now!.
It's cold and windy this week, so head to the theater and see it!

Kevin Costner plays the grandfather to this little girl-Eloise. Her mother has passed and so has his wife.
Grandfather is all alone raising her, but her other grandmother wants the child to live with her and maybe even the child's dad if he can get his act together.

Looks like a good film and a family man role for Kevin Costner, he lives in a big house with tons of comforts, and the child's grandmother lives with less comforts of home. Who will Eloise live with?

BLACK OR WHITE is the story of a grandfather (Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner) who is suddenly left to care for his beloved granddaughter.  When the little girl’s paternal grandmother (Academy Award® winner Octavia Spencer) seeks custody, a legal battle ensues that forces the families to confront their true feelings on race, forgiveness and understanding.  Anchored by an all-star cast and based on real events, the movie is a look at two seemingly different worlds, in which nothing is as simple as black or white.
