Giveaway to three winners, 20 Mule Team Borax, cleaning natural since 1891

What exactly is Borax? You know the powdery white stuff in the box that says 20 Mule Team Borax. It naturally softens hard water, so it can maximize your cleaning power of your detergent. It's a Laundry booster, stain remover, toilet bowl cleaner, sink cleaner, dishwasher detergent booster and a whole bunch more uses can be found at 20muleteamlaundry.com Hard water is water that contains calcium and magnesium-ions. I did not know that! Did you ever think about what hard water was? We say it all the time, and now I know what it is! So what is 20 Mule Team Borax? It's a natural mineral from the earth. It's removed from the ground, washed, dried and boxed up so we can use it to clean the dishes, laundry, bathroom, and much more. Borax is the common name for sodium tetraborate, a naturally occurring substance produced by the perpetual evaporation of seasonal lakes. hmm, another new fact. There is nothing added to 20 Mule Team Borax-no phosphates, chlorine or other additive ch

Clean, Separate, Cook, Chill. Wait, What is that about?

How hot has it been this week in New Jersey! Yesterday is was in the 90's and humid. Next week brings July 4th parades, picnics and fireworks. Do you have big plans to celebrate? I just got back form the grocery store and I'd say it's busy with shoppers loading up on big packs of ground beef, hot dogs, rolls, and watermelons. Did you know you should always rinse off your watermelon as well as any other fruit before your cut into it. What ever germs are on the outside and going to be on the inside as soon as your knife cuts through that fruit skin. During the Summer months bacteria is happy growing in the heat of the days. Be sure to keep your food prep areas clean and keep your food at the proper temperature to avoid illness. Don't leave food out of the refrigerator for long periods of time. Follow the 4 steps below to help keep you and your family feeling good and enjoy all the Summer picnics. Use a meat thermometer when cooking any meats, on the grill, stove or campfi

What is your favorite sandwich? Mine is still ham and Swiss.   I found Finlandia brand cheese at my local grocery store in the area near the deli, they also sold Finlandia Swiss cheese by the pound in the deli.  I bought both-the packaged and the deli sliced. It's Movie Monday! Monsters University is in theaters now, get your free fun here

feel free to print these out and have the kids color them:           OFFICIAL BOILERPLATE: Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer.    The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right. Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music

Send the kids to Summer Camp with heartfelt love from Lunchbox Love® cards.

Today marks the last day of school in my town. Let Summer begin already!  I wonder how many families have packed their kids up for Summer camp. Summer camp means a check list. I've been to enough Summer camps in my childhood that I have forgotten something-so I am extra cautious with that now with my own kids.   Along with clothing, toiletries, rain gear, and a flashlight, comforts from home can help get your child through moments of home sickness. A favorite book, stuffed animal, or other item from home serves as a reminder to them that their family is at home awaiting their return from Summer Camp.   Even if your child is having the time of their life at Summer Camp, it's nice to know Mom and Dad are thinking of of you and send their love.   Make your child feel extra special and loved while they are at Summer camp with Lunchbox Love ® positive notes and camp trivia cards. Pack these cards with your child's clothing, tuck one in a sock, in folded shirts, with their toothp

Disney on the road in New York City by way of automobile with a little pixie dust help.

I loaded up the car and headed to New York City-myself and another fellow blogger that is.  When my family and I go to New York City, my husband is the driver,  on my bucket list was to drive myself there. I don't mind driving anywhere, even in the city.  Well, at least I think so... We got into the city OK, but the navigation system was heading us to Queens. (sounds like another post, right?)  I am so thankful my co-pilot said no, we don't want to go that way. We eventually found our way to Double Tree Hotel on Lexington Avenue and in time for the conference to start. We were not late, a bit frazzled, but not late. We each received a tote bag filled with Disney goodies: Disney on The Road had several stops around the country where invited moms, and even a few dads where in attendance.  We were served a delicious breakfasts and had plenty of ice cold water to drink throughout the morning.     Maria Bailey of BSM Media spoke to us about Women in business. Moms as business women

The Man of Steel Has a Heart Of Gold. My thoughts on the film screening, and Swag Giveaway

Tuesday night I attended the screening for "Man of Steel" at a theater in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, I'd like to tell you all about the pre event, the zillion anxious people waiting on line for hours to see this film-but that's another post... Luckily I was able to meander my way to the door and ask the security guard where the media rep was. It took some time and eventually I found my seat.  Roll the film-please. Man of Steel opens with Superman  (Henry Cavill)  as an infant with his parents, who are trying to save Cal (superman) from the war on his planet.  His father (Russell Crowe) sends him to earth  with all his hopes and dreams. His parents place him in a pod craft and send him out into the galaxy headed toward earth.   He is found by a couple (Kevin Costner, Diane Lane) who raise him as their own. Do they know he has super powers? Where did he come from? Why is he here? The beginning of the film is a bit of science fiction, but gives the story of Superman's
