Did you know one in five people have arthritis? That's 50 million people in the United States. I am one of them and I have family members with painful Arthritis.
Education and knowledge on how to live with Arthritis is so important. In partnership with the Ad Council the Arthritis foundation is continuing their Fight Arthritis Pain Campaign encourage Americans to Move to Improve on World Arthritis Day on October 12, 2012.
Out of those 50 million Americans with arthritis, 27 million of them have osteoarthritis. Right now there is no cure for Arthritis, but you can take steps to slow it down, reduce pain and increase mobility.
I have had arthritis in my spine for many years now. It is painful at times and does effect mobility. Taking vitamins and supplements such as calcium, and fish oil is my path to help improve my bones and keep arthritis at bay. Taking daily walks is another way I keep moving. Yoga is another good way to stretch and keep active. I go to a class once in awhile, but need to make it part of my day. (This is just my routine, not for advice of any kind)
