Radio Disney and UL are sharing safety tips for this holiday season

 
RADIO DISNEY AND UL CULMINATE MULTIMARKET SAFETY SERIES BY SPREADING HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS TO KIDS AND FAMILIES
--Safety Series Touches Nearly 2 Million Kids and Families Nationwide--
Radio Disney, the #1 radio network for kids, tweens and families and Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a global safety organization which works to promote safe living and working environments for people everywhere, culminate a multimarket safety series that reached nearly two million people in over 25 markets with holiday events that will help spread safety tips to kids and families.
 
Beginning SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1, local holiday events in Seattle, Portland, Orlando, Little Rock and Albany will offer interactive entertainment and safety-themed games to remind kids and families how to make Safety Smart decisions for the holidays with simple steps to help keep your family safe including: watering your tree daily; blowing out unattended candles; and always make sure your holiday lights and decorations bear the UL Mark of Safety.
Event details are as follows:
December 1 (11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) - Big Jingle Jubilee Holiday Parade at East Rivermarket Pavillion with Radio Disney 99.5FM Little Rock
December 1 (4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) - Kirkland Tree Lighting with Radio Disney AM 1250 Seattle
December 1 (6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) - Beaverton Tree Lighting in City of Beaverton with Radio Disney AM 1640 Portland
December 2 (11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) – The Annual Troy Victorian Stroll in Downtown Troy with Radio Disney AM 1460 Albany
December 8 (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.) – Now Snowing Nightly in Celebration Town Center with Radio Disney AM 990 Orlando
 
Safety Tips:

· Water your tree daily.
· Blow out unattended candles.
· Always make sure your holiday lights and decorations bear the UL Mark of Safety.
Additional tips include:
1. Only plug in one plug per outlet
2. When online shopping, be aware of what personal information you are providing
3. Always log off a website before you close your browser
4. Stay at least 3 feet away from portable heaters
5. Keep stairways and pathways free of clutter
6. Remind your kids to dial in 9-1-1 in emergencies
7. Make sure your home has a UL listed Carbon Monoxide alarm, UL listed Fire Extinguishers and a home escape plan
