My girls have been watching Veggie Tales for years, and their parents love to watch the DVDs with them. Those cute veggie characters are entertaining, but they also teach us lessons or parables. I remember as a kid watching Davey and Goliath that taught children parables-did you watch that show? Veggie Tales seems just like that show to me, but much more colorful and entertaining!
Veggie Tales songs stick with us all the time. I might even catch myself singing one in a time of stress. It's those catchy songs and stories that we can put into action in our time of need or decision making. My favorite is "God is bigger than the boggie man". Just typing the words is pretty powerful, so add the song and everything is okay with the world.
Veggie Tales newest DVD is "The Little House That Stood" A lesson in making good choices. Of course there are three little pigs in this story. The pigs want to build a house, each builder they find wants to build the house out of different material. So who did they choose? They follow God's blueprints to build their "house".
The DVD also has the story- Ever Wonder What Happened Before Humpty Cracked? "The Good Egg of Gooseville". There are bonus features of behind the scenes with Big Idea, sing along, Studio Store (that's where I''d be headed-to shop), and even Spanish subtitles.
I have been tucking a DVD into my kids Easter Basket since they were about 1 year old. Veggie Tales is so perfect for the Easter Basket this year! I like to buy a new container of sidewalk chalk, bubbles, sunglasses, and some chocolate bunnies to tuck in the basket too. Nothing says Spring and a new beginning like Easter. Pick up "The Little House That Stood" wherever you buy DVDs and tuck it into your kids Easter Basket this year. (WalMart has the DVD with a Free puzzle)
