I listened to Rod Stewart's new CD "Time" during my mom time, you know, waiting in the car for the kids.

Disclosure:  I participated in this campaign for One2One Network. I received a free copy of the CD to facilitate my review. By posting, I am eligible for incentives. All opinions stated are my own.

As I am writing this post, I am in my car waiting on my daughter to finish up her first year of college, last final exam. One year done.  The car windows are down an inch, it's a muggy sunny day, and I want nothing more that to turn the car on and run the AC, and turn my radio up louder.  I am the mom waiting for my kids in the parking lot, but this is college and I don't want to look to nerdy blasting music in my car. Do you know what I mean?

The only saving part of this waiting is Rod Stewart. Wait, What? He is singing again? Yes, he is, and his new album "Time" has been released for sale today, May 7, 2013.

Rod Stewart has spent four decades being a rock star, three being a parent, and has a new album's worth of rollicking stories to tell. Time is his first album of new material in almost 20 years.

I'm a fan of his music, and happy to be listening to this album, even in my hot car. He is singing about love, happiness, marriage,  divorce, and romance. It's easy to listen to his words and fit them in your own life in one or all of his songs.

Suddenly ideas for lyrics were piling up in my head," he says. "Next thing I knew, I had a song called 'It's Over' about divorce and separation. And now I was getting up in the middle of the night and scrambling for a pen to write things down, which has never happened to me. I finished seven or eight songs very quickly and I still wasn't done, and it became apparent that I would eventually have a whole album of material to record."

My daughter just sent me a text message that she is on her way back from her final. She had to turn in a portfolio so it wasn't too long a wait, but I could have used more time to listen to this album again. Get your own copy and have some mom time!

The album is available on itunes and Amazon. Follow Rod Stewart on Twitter https://twitter.com/rodstewart to see where he is on European leg of his Live the Life tour on June 1st, while American dates with Steve Winwood will kick off October 17th
