Searching For Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church by The New York Times best seller author: Rachel Held Evans.
My thoughts:
I grew up in a very active Church family. Sometimes I thought my Dad had changed jobs and worked at the Church now since he was there so much. What was he doing there? Working on projects in the office of the church. A church has tons of paper work, budgets, meetings, and all kinds of legal stuff to take care of-that's what my dad was doing, in addition to his attorney work. My Mom purchased and arraigned the flowers for the church every Sunday, also weddings, special events, and fancy receptions, and the arrangements were amazing!
During Lent I think we were at church everyday-plus Sunday! Going to Church was part of our life-or is our life.
But then,,,my brother, sister and I went off to college and said hey, we don't have to go to Church anymore! We could make our own decision-sort off. My parents arranged to have a local family pick me up on Sunday and take me to church with them. Wait, what, I have to get up early on a Sunday???? I did, and I went to church with them, for a while. Then-I got the-I can do what I want phase.

About the book:
In this book-Searching For Sunday, the author takes us through her not going to church, all the hype, and politics of church, and it's just not the place for her, or is it? She leaves the church, but is drawn back. But what brings her back to the church?
The book takes us through the seven sacraments of the church, and what it really means to be a member of a church. Are you a member of your church or do you just go there on Sunday. I've been a member of the same denomination since birth, not at the same church since birth due to moving. I've had different
levels of being a member as I have progressedthrough the sacraments from baptism through Matrimony.
The Seven Sacraments: A sacrament is a visible sign of your inward spiritual grace
baptism
Eucharist
Confirmation
Reconciliation of a Penitent
Matrimony
Orders
Unction
