Somewhere around the time of middle school my Grandparents started taking my sister and I to church camps during our Summer Vacation. I don’t think we ever went to the same place twice for whatever reason, but each trip was an adventure and a long car ride...but it was so worth the week at camp.
I loved church camp! The crafts, the mess hall with those long green tables, the swimming, the campfires, and campers to be friends with for the week.
During a college Summer break I landed a church camp counselor job in Connecticut. I love New England and this was a dream job.
The church camp story continues to this day, my husband and I bought a cottage at a church camp where his family had attended for generations. My children have attend this camp since they were born, my second child went there when she was two months old. I love that my kids have grown up at this church camp and that I continue to grow spiritually and in friendships.
I miss my grandparents dearly. I am thankful they drove us to church camps from Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Ohio, and to my grown up children for having a church camp is the highlight of our year.
Church camp and Church have taught me to ask for help in time of need and also that campfire and hymn sings are the way I can get through a tough time and to also praise his name with song.
A heartwarming family film is releasing this week. Distributed by AMBI Distribution, BEYOND THE SUN, is a modern day tale of hope, faith and courage based on stories from the Bible. This delightful family movie chronicles the adventures of four young friends in search of God.
The film features a very rare special appearance by Pope Francis. In support of the film, AMBI Media Group is holding a special contest where one lucky winner will win an Exclusive Private Tour of the Vatican and Front Row Tickets to an Audience with The Pope For Four!
For anyone who has ever wanted to visit Italy and The Vatican, this is your chance! For additional details about the contest and to enter, please go to:
