But what I don’t like is the thought of all that dust, cat hair, and dirt that
falls into the floor ducts. I know it’s there, I might not see all of it way
down through the basement, but we are breathing that air, every second.
This week the weather has been in the mid 60 degree mark. I turned the
Air Conditioner on in my car for the first time since October time frame.
It smelled awful. I had to open all the car windows for a few minutes to
get the smell out. I know exactly what that smell is, it's bacteria in the AC
lines, because I've had it cleaned out before at the car dealer. Not only
do we need to keep the air in our home bacteria free, but in the cars as
well.
Is there mold, mildew, or bacteria lurking in our air handler equipment at
home, I’m gonna go with a yes. That’s a strong yes. Call Nash Everettfor Mold Removal, Duct Cleaning, Moisture Management, and MicrobialTesting. There, now that's one thing to cross of the list, once
you give a professional a call to give your house a free inspection.
take a look at these air ducts, before and after. gross, right.

Our girls have allergies to dust mites, mold, mildew, and pet dander. And yes, we have a cat. With cat hair in places we don’t even see. I envision it swirls around at night while no one is looking and goes right through the vent system.
Then there is the dryer. I clean the lint trap every time I use the dryer. But
what am I missing? Did you ever see that little pile of lint outside your
house where the dryer vents out? I know by seeing that outside the vent,
there is more trapped in the vent, and well, I don't know how to clean that.
We don’t have a yearly to do list to clean the ducts, inspect for mold,
mildew, or air quality. But we should.
Honestly for me, I’d hire a professional for a home evaluation and have
peace of mind that the air in the house is clean for us to breathe.
These days, clean air and ventilation are big topics in the world.
I’m all in for that. Nothing like a stuffy house or a musty smelling
basement, it makes me want to pull up my collar and breath through my
shirt when I visit a place like that. Do you know what I mean?
The real estate market is moving fast.
If you are purchasing a new home, even a new construction,
consider having a home evaluation assessment because who knows what
the previous owners lived like, and in new construction there is drywall
dust, and all kinds of little pieces from the construction that end up in the
air handler/ducts.
Mold and Mildew can lurk in unseen places, like from a leaky toilet, pipes, snow, and rain. Mold and Mildew in the home increases breathing problems, health issues, and COPD symptoms.
Hire a professional to look at areas prone to mold and mildew.
