One hot Summer day - June 26, I headed to Atlantic City, New Jersey, to see the famous Air Show. I was able to park right next to the boardwalk in a garage since I had a media pass. (Blogging has great perks) The city gets full of people and cars and parking is at a premium.
It was a hot day, but their was excitement in the air-and in the sky. We made our way down to the beach where Chalets were set up for ticket holders and media pass holders.
I've been going to Atlantic City since I was in elementary school and I love to go back and visit. It has changed a lot, but it's also kept some of the old charm I remember-like convention center.
At the air show you will be wowed and thrilled with the planes flying above your head. It is pretty awesome. This year's show had a little less military planes, but the show was just as good.
What a beautiful blue sky day for the Atlantic City Air Show 2013!
If you plan to go to the Atlantic City Air show next year or in the future here are a few tips I learned along the way:
wear sunscreen
wear a hat
bring plenty of H20 and drink it
bring cash to buy food or souvenirs if you want
bring a tote bag if you want to visit the vendors and pick up freebies
wear light colored clothing or your bathing suit
Both times I went to the air show the Sun was high in the sky, and it was HOT. Sunny, but very hot.
The sand is very hot.
Relax, take your time and get there early, especially if you want to set up a spot on the beach.
Parts of the beach are closed and you need a ticket or media pass to get on the beach. No exceptions to this.
Consider spending the night in town before the show and after the show.
The outlets are in walking distance to the show, we visited them to cool off a bit after the show.

Along with the air show comes a boardwalk full of vendors, giveaways, music, games and food. I picked up a few goodies on a quick pass through I did on the boardwalk.

The dates are not set yet, but you can visit the web site to see the schedule and line up of performers from this year: http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/acairshow.aspx You'll also find the date for next Summer's air show as soon as it is available. Happy flying!
Disclosure: I was given a media pass and parking to attend this event. The comments and views are my own.
