I mean when you become an adult in your 20's you think you know it all, like all of it.  But then you turn 30, 40, 50 and wow, being an adult is so much more than you thought or even knew was going to happen in your life.  It's like you find this settled peace of mind, you are not afraid, scared, or stray towards sin.  But hey, o wait, that still happens.  In fact, we are moving into a new house soon, it's acres of tress, and wildlife. My family and I are in the process of moving out of the house we have lived in for 20 some years.   Imagine the amount of stuff we all accumulated over the years.  We had a wall of six book cases. One of the book cases was stocked with Bibles, related books of the Bible, Christianity, church, teachings, and history. I came across my own Children's Bible and my youth Bible.  We did pass along many of the books, but those two I kept.  My Bible is full of underlined pages, highlighted sentences, souvenir bookmarks, and little slips of paper with inspirational thoughts or Bible verses. My girls have several Bibles from Sunday School, Confirmation, Graduation, and gifts. I've never bought a Bible, they have always been gifted to me. I think that is the most thoughtful and best gift to give someone. There are many of times a Bible verse is needed through out my day. I'll admit I'm not one that can recite Bible verses, book, chapter, and verse.  I mostly remember a verse from a hymn I've sung at church or Summer camp. I have my Grandmother's Bible, one of many in her house I'm sure, but it's the one I kept after her passing and cleaning out her home of many years with my Grandfather. Her Bible is not in a case, nor tabbed for each chapter. I'm ok with using her Bible for church services, but for my own reading, I look to supplemental books, like those with pictures, color, and larger print! I enjoy researching my family genealogy through documents, photographs, web sites, and family stories. I think it's so neat to see where our relatives came from, what ship they traveled on to come to America, and who served in the early years of defense.  Have you thought about all those relatives that came before the dates research allows us to study? The past few days I've been doing Christmas shopping, in stores, not online, but waiting on line.  I've seen some empty shelves and floor space where Christmas decorations and gifts to buy have already been purchased. The season is changing to Autumn and I feel like life slows down a bit. I know there are tons of activities going on after school, and homework, and errands, and birthday parties. But the end of the day was always a special time for reading a story or two to the girls at bedtime. Even better when they learned to read on their own and I could listen to the story. A recent email I read was about a Christian site that offers quotes, images, and devotions.  So, I clicked the link and found loads of quotes with images, and more text below the image if you want to read more about the quote/verse. They are all God's creatures, but some I am not found of-at all. But I am going to be strong and show you about this book. You probably guessed by now one of my least favorite creatures is...   When I saw this book was available for review/giveaway, I was like no way do I want to review that book, it is about Snakes. The thing that made me say yes, was the illustration is absolutely amazing.  The illustrations are done by award winning artist Don Clark ,  who is also the cofounder of Invisible Creature, and a father.
