So, I listened to "It's Gonna Find You" , as soon as the song ended I said, more!  As in I want to hear more of this music. Bombs Over Nowhere has a sound that reminds me of music I used to listen to on my way back and forth to college when I commuted for a brief period at the end of my degree work.  Never mind my reason for enjoying this band. Have a listen for yourself and see what you think, oh and there is two songs on this post so there is more, and even more- their Debut EP is set to be released on Feb 25, 2014. Watch the video from the new Dr. Dog Song, "Broken Heart" below. Their new album "B-Room will be out on October 1, 2013. Just in time for all your Fall parties!   "B-Room is the culmination of a complete overhaul of the band’s writing and recording process, which finds them in a new self-built studio, writing songs live in rehearsal, and using the rock solid groove of the band, honed through workmanlike touring, as a powerful compositional tool. In its purest form, B-Room is a soul album. The band is made up of critically acclaimed artist Carla Kihlstedt (Tin Hat Trio, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, 2 Foot Yard, The Book of Knots) and husband Matthias Bossi (Skeleton Key, The Book of Knots, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum More on Rabbit Rabbit “Writing songs is the art of putting a frame around a story.” Kihlstedt notes. “We try to be faithful to what each story needs rather than being faithful to a particular style or genre.” Bossi adds that “we draw on our love of classical music and all of its intricacy and detail. We revel in the simplicity of a backbeat with blocky chords. We nerd out to prog-rock. We swoon over melody-masters Bacharach and Bowie. And we execute it all on a carefully selected acoustic sound palate.”   Volume 1 is the product of a year’s writing. The songs were recorded at Kihlstedt and Bossi’s home studio in Cape Cod, Evans’ Brick Hill Studio and Hamilton’s Studio ...

NCIS Los Angeles earns a spot on my television line up viewing. I wouldn't call myself an avid TV viewer, but there are a few shows I like to clear the deck for, this is one of them. Why?  Chris O’Donnell, he is Irish, a good family man, and have been a fan of his since he played Robin in Bateman. LL COOL J and he are an awesome team to watch along with the rest of the cast. And how about that cute, but power packed Hetty! the cast of NCIS Los Angeles Have you ever watched a show without the volume, as in hit the mute button? It's not as exciting without the music. Right. I'll admit, if I am watching a really scary show, I turn the sound off, then it's not as scary. However for NCIS Los Angeles, I don't ever turn the sound down. It totally makes the show. My favorite track on this CD is Never Die by Daughtry. I liked him on American Idol and glad to see him doing so well. This CD has a nice variety of artists and songs.  LL COOL J and  Ne-Yo perform "No Mor...

MADELEINE PEYROUX'S THE BLUE ROOM I listened to Madeleine's new album over the weekend, and it's a hit with me.  I love her smooth, jazzy, vintage sounding voice. She has been compared to the sound of Billie Holiday. Her songs make me want to grab a glass-or two of wine and sit down for some me time. Of course you can share her music with everyone, but after listening to teenage music all day, I claim some grown up music now and then. Madeleine Peyroux's voice is soft, calming, and just the kind of music I like. Madeleine and longtime collaborator / legendary producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock), re-examine Ray Charles’ classic, and one of his most controversial albums, Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music But instead of replicating the album, Madeleine and Larry represented the artistic freedom Ray exhibited, using imagination to break down musical categories and barriers. What Madeleine and Larry created is a sophisticated album rich in strings, ...
