On the weekends my husband and I attend a church group where the scripture is read; we break into groups and then discuss the verses. I always have a bunch of questions...I've read the Bible once or twice cover to cover however, I'm far from understanding what I read.
Do you own a Bible? My
Grandparents gave my sister and I a few different styles of Bibles over the
years. We had several Bibles when we each moved out of the family home. Have I
read those Bibles? hmm parts of it, it's kind of overwhelming to me. How about
you?
What is the takeaway from
a verse, chapter, or book of the Bible. I am looking for a way to apply what we
read. I've never used a study Bible but will be hence forth. Help is
here.
As I write this blog post,
and if you've known of my blog, I have not written a blog post in a while.
What happened? Nothing
really, life changes, activities change.  I still see blogger friends
posting faith-based posts and I thought, hey I'd like to write a blog post on a
faith-based topic. I filled out a quick form and waited for a reply.
Then it arrived... ALEXANDER
MACLAREN Study Bible encouragement and insight for a Christ Centered
Life. A beautiful
Bible. It's really exciting and comforting to own such a book. It's as sturdy
as the words inside.
I wasn't used to carrying
a Bible to church, I thought I'd just listen. But now I bring my Bible to
church. Listening and reading along helped me grasp the words a bit better. I
was underling, highlighting, and bookmarking on the pages. One of my professors
in college said don't highlight in our books because all the words are
important. So true.
