I watched the cutest movie a few days ago about a young girl living in a children's home in United Kingdom. She is trying all sorts of ways to get to California where she thinks her mother is living the life of a movie star. After one too many failed escapes, she is sent to live with her aunt on her farm. Her name is Charlie and she has the cutest smile and personality except when it comes to chores...

The Aunt has one farm hand, but he sleeps most of the time and is no help.  Now that her niece has come to live with her, she puts Charlie to work. Of course, Charlie doesn't want any part of farm work, until she realizes she can communicate with plants. Then everything changes, not all at once, but over time the farm changes to all organic methods, healthier soil, healthier food. While all that is taking place relationships become healthier too. Pumpkins are growing right along with love.

The town Aunt Dinah lives in is known as the Pumpkin Captial of the world. they even have a contest every year to see who grew the heaviest pumpkin. Aunt Dinah's niece, Charlie gets wind of the contest and the prize money and sets her sights on growing the heaviest pumpkin yet. It's not an easy go of it with competition and their attempt at discouraging Charlie.

It's not all fields of flowers and pumpkins during the growing season, but there is more to the story then just growing a super big pumpkin. Charlie has realized she has a special relationship with things that grow, especially her pumpkin. 

It's a wonderful movie full of the United Kingdom countryside, farms, and the lovely accent of the local people of the town, But mostly it's a story of family, hard work, and faith.

GROW is the title of the movie.
