Retro Halloween decorations made in USA.

Do you remember the rolls and rolls of Mrs. Grossman's stickers for sale in gift shops? I don't see those for sale in any stores, perhaps I need to look at different stores, but you can order direct from Mrs. Grossman's.  I ordered this box of 30 rolls of stickers to handout to the little cousins. They'd be fun for classroom, trick or treat, craft time or to tuck in a greeting card. Decorate your greeting cards, treat bags, or art projects. From Mrs. Grossman's-three sheets to a pack.               I'm becoming a big fan of paper cut outs, they remind me of childhood, and they are easy to pack away after the holiday. You can hang these up on doors, walls, or windows. A little spooky, but just for fun.  These are made by the Beistle Company in Pennsylvania. Look for this brand at party stores and online party stores, or Amazon. Sorry to say Beistle doesn't take orders unless you have an account with them and are a shop keeper or the like. ...

New Camp Label Packs are here for a limited time from Mabel's Labels

Hey, who's toothbrush is this? Can you imagine the scene in the bathroom at sleep away camp? Combs, brushes, tooth paste and brush, shampoo, and a toiletry kit full of everything you could think of to pack-left on the sink in the shower stall, or the towel hanging on a hook.  Label it! That's my motto for personal items from water bottles, backpacks, shoes, electronic stuff and everything in between. Mabel's Labels are truly one of my favorite brands I've come to value since I started this blog. Each member of my family has a set, I order sets from time to time for new little ones in our extended family, and at Christmas time for stocking stuffers.  The past few days have been cold and rainy, but Summer plans are being made! Mabel's Labels has new set for Day Camp and Sleepaway Camp.  I tend to over pack for camping, or really for any trip, for that just in case moment. Mabel's Labels are perfect for any age to keep personal items safe and snug in their day pack...

Special DVD + Plush Bundle offer of Susie's Hope in alliance with Dogs Deserve Better

Susie's Hope has teamed up with Dogs Deserve Better  to raise awareness of chained dogs and animal cruelty.  The movie is based on the true story of Donna Lawrence and her concern for a neighbors barking dog- she tried to calm, but instead was attacked by the dog and suffered serious injury.  Month's after her attack she came upon a dog in the park. This dog was badly beaten and burned. The dog, Susie, was rescued, nursed back to health and trained to work as therapy dog with burn victims. Proceeds from the sale of the movie until July, support both fervent animal rescue non-profits ( Susie's Hope and Dogs Deserve Better) founded to rescue animals from abuse and inhumane conditions and find their forever homes. The plush version of Susie is now available and he can be yours- as easy as ordering the DVD and this small plush bundle from Susie's Hope .  But wait-there's more-until July, you can enjoy 10% off the DVD and plush bundles and $5 from every sale goes to...

Help Change the Luck of a Child through RMHC and a pup named Blarney

Two weeks ago I drove to Hershey, Pennsylvania to The Pennsylvania Sate University Medical Center. I did not have an appointment or test scheduled. I was there to see my great nieces. 1, 2, babies, as their sister says! (also known as twins)  There was a need for a stay a this hospital for one twin. I've been here before, years ago, to say goodbye to my nephew as the angels in heaven came for him.  As I walked off the elevator onto the NICU floor it was all too familiar. Another time in life, and yet, here we are, again.   I am happy to say all is well with the baby girls.  I also would like to tell you that the floor we were on had two big family rooms. These are Ronald McDonald House Charity Family Rooms . The one room had several couches that one could stretch out on, sleep on, or sit and be quiet. There were hand made blankets, sheets, and pillows for the parents to use. There was a bathroom-a full bathroom to take a shower. A washer and dryer too. The other room...

Celtic Thunder presents Legacy on DVD and CD, and yes there are Bag Pipes a playing.

Somewhere in my youth among my parent's seats to the symphony, ballroom dancing lessons, and pairs of teeny tiny white gloves I wore to church and special occasions, I was taught to listen to music. Not the musical notes, but the sounds of the instruments, the reference to a story through music. I'm not a musician, a ballroom dancer, or attending any symphonies lately, but I still listen to music. Listen, imagine, and relax. Perhaps I'll close my eyes and picture that place in my mind that the music sounds like. That's how I listen to music, unless of course I'm driving the car, then eyes wide open! Today, I'm listening to my heritage. My Irish heritage that I'm actively researching. I remember the first time I heard Celtic Thunder perform. I was decorating a tall thin Christmas tree in our basement with needlepoint ornaments my mom made. I turned the television on just to pass the time. Ha, pass the time, I never got off the couch...I watched the entire PBS...
