Mrs. Green's Natural Market and Cafe is now open in West Windsor, New Jersey! I went to the pre-grand opening to take a look around. It was a bit crowded and there was excitement in the air! We were treated to fresh food samples, activities for the kids, live music, and fun. The staff was eager to answer any questions and the atmosphere was that of fresh food! Must-Have Marvin! The Shine Bright Kids series teaches kids the importance of making good choices, from the author of Can't-Wait Willow, Christy Ziglar.  This book is a 10x10 inches size with a really cool raised glittery title. The robot in Marvin's hand is also glittery. The illustrations are very colorful and done by Luanne Marten. The book is for children 4-8 years of age but of course you can read it yourself or read it to any age child. It's Friday, it's the second day of Spring, and I just read a book. Off to a good start I'd say. Now if I could get the laundry done, and the dishes put away before dinner time that would be some accomplishment.  The book I read this morning is titled SUBURBAN HAIKU: Poetic Dispatches from Behind the Picket Fence.  Do you know what a haiku is? It's a 17-syllable, three line poem. I took a creative writing class in high school and we wrote haiku poems, not that I was good at it, but those three lines of a poem had to hold very meaningful words. It was one topic of the class I actually enjoyed, so when I saw the title of this book I knew I wanted to read it.  The book is written by Petyon Price, a mom living in a suburban neighborhood. One of the most useful pans in my kitchen is a cast iron frying pan. I have several cast iron frying pans in different sizes that get used daily. From breakfast time eggs, to a grilled cheese sandwich at lunch, to a  main dish at dinner, these cast iron pans are great for stove top or oven cooking.  The pan in the photo was made by Griswold from Erie Pennsylvania.
