The month of January doesn't lend itself  much in the way of holiday decorations. My house has snowflakes and snowmen here and there. Snow has not graced us with it's presence as of yet. I am ready to put the winter decorations away. Perhaps if I lived in an area of great amounts of snowfall, cold temperatures and where wool sweaters are a must I'd be more apt to enjoy the winter decorations. Temperature readings of 40 degree Fahrenheit just don't feel like winter.  Stores are stocking up with Spring clothing, garden supplies, and brighter colored everything. Before we head into the season of Spring, there is Valentine's Day.  This is the  first big holiday after Christmas that is celebrated in giving and receiving. A dozen red roses, a heart shaped box of chocolates, and the cute, sentimental, even mushy Valentine' s Day card. School children will sign Valentine's day cards and pass out to their school mates, Maybe there is a shoe box turned into a mailbox...

This morning I headed South to a McDonald's ®  location in Absecon, New Jersey. Nice place. Really nice place. It's sunny, it's clean, it's full of friendly employees, hard working  staff, it's busy, and the food is great.   The three hour tour, for bloggers, began with meeting a warm hearted, dedicated owner, a hard working manager, and two lovely ladies working on PR for the company. The bloggers were served a cup of  warm, full of fruit oatmeal. This was my first try of McDonald's  oatmeal. It is good. Sure to fill you up, and good for a cold morning. The group then learned about the company from the owner of this McDonald's, who happens to own several other locations. She is truly dedicated to the care and quality of her restaurants. that's the sunshine on the towel There is a pile of laundry somewhere in my house, all the time. I could wash all day, walk upstairs and find another heap of laundry. I give up, I am defeated by the dirty clothes. This is a photo of my Christmas Tree skirt, towels, shirts, and more towels. Why in the world would I be washing the tree skirt? It's  been claimed by our cat for the month of December as his blanket under the tree. To pack it away for the year I best wash it, don't you think? I have been washing all our clothes in cold water for years. One day long ago I just decided to use cold water, all the time. Back in the day of powdered laundry detergent I would find clumps of undissolved powder in the washing machine drum. On Sunday we went to the 2012 Pennsylvania Farm Show in Harrisburg. I have been to the Farm Show many times- as a school child, with my family, and in my college days I worked there over Semester Breaks. Those cold January Mornings my sister and I would wake up about 4 AM to drive over to the Farm Show. We would work all day-by all day I mean from the time the building opened for the Farmers to the time the building closed. It was a long day, everyday for a week. Pay Day was the best. At the end of the week we all got an envelope of cash-our payment for the week. Money to take back to college. This year I was not working, not on a school field trip. I was an adult. I could get there when I wanted, leave when I wanted. We arrived at 9:45 AM. We parked across the street since the lots were full.
